The Primary Closure Course is designed for pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals who want to build confidence and competence in 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 — from 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 (𝗴𝗹𝘂𝗲) 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. Certification

  • Online modules

    Online modules 1-6 + face to face OSCE workshop form the foundational and assessment component of the Primary Closure Certification Pathway for pharmacists + allied health. Full Certification awarded only after completion of all stages (valid for 2 years).

  • Scope of practice

    This certification recognises successful completion of structured education and assessment in the foundational principles of primary wound closure, supporting safe clinical decision-making within scope of practice.

  • Health professionals

    Designed for: - Full scope pharmacists - Pharmacists undertaking or planning extended / full scope training - Allied health professionals involved in acute wound management

  • Limitations

    This certification does not confer independent authority to practise and must be applied within local scope of practice, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
